We took this guitar to get evaluated at Vintage Instruments by Fred Oster in Philadelphia. They are an official Martin Guitar retailer, with a speciality in vintage and antique stringed instruments. Here is what they had to say (the photo of their description is included as well)
"Sitka spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, one-piece mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard, replaces & oversized Rosewood bridge. Original tortoise pickguard. Period case with purple lining.
Condition notes: pickguard crack at the inner edge of the guard, has had a neck reset, non original style board frets, low neck reset with evidence of reset at the neck joint, replacement Schaller enclosed tuners with offset screws."
